President's Message, May 2026
I hope May is off to a great start for you.
This past weekend was a special one for me, as I had the pleasure of watching my daughter Kyra graduate from Syracuse University magna cum laude. Over the past four years, she worked hard, made the most of her college experience, and stayed actively involved in campus life, including ice hockey and her sorority. She also studied abroad in Florence, Italy, and participated in a Sports Public Relations program in Switzerland, which included visits to FIFA and the International Olympic Committee headquarters. I could not be prouder of her. It has been wonderful to watch her grow and blossom into the amazing young woman she is today.
The graduation ceremony also featured an inspiring commencement address from Syracuse alumnus John Sykes, co-founder of MTV and president of entertainment enterprises for iHeartMedia. His message was especially timely: while AI is changing every industry and we all need to learn how to adapt, there is still no replacement for hustle, hard work, and strong communication skills.
In the weeks ahead, Kyra will begin the next chapter of her life as she starts her career with a well-known public relations firm in New York City.
This month’s E-News also includes several Beacon updates and industry-related items.
