Job Description (Project Engineer): An important aspect of our business is assisting Surety companies with the assessment and completion of troubled construction projects. We are seeking a Full-Time Project Engineer to join our Midtown New York City office to assist project managers in providing Surety Consulting services. Our Surety Consulting services include: Assessing status of construction projects and the cost to complete them, generation of re-let packages, ratification of subcontractors, construction management oversight, review of payment bond claims, and construction defect assessment. Requirements:
- 1 to 3 years of experience related to construction/project management
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- An interest in utilizing existing construction management skills and learning additional skills associated with surety consulting
Key responsibilities:
- Communicating with the subcontractors/vendors on a day-to-day basis
- Reviewing construction project related documents
- Assisting the Project Manager to prepare and update the project cost to complete analysis
- Estimating construction completion costs
- Preparing and/or reviewing payment requisitions, change orders & other project documents
- Assisting the Project Manager to prepare and/or analyze project schedules, construction and payment bond claims
- Assisting the Project Manager to prepare bid packages
- Coordinating information with subcontractors/vendors
- Organizing and filing project documents
Experience:
- Accredited degree in Engineering or Construction Management;
- Degree in Civil Engr. is preferred (but not required)
- 1-3 years of construction project experience desired
- High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience in Primavera Scheduling software is a plus (but not required)
- CADD experience preferred
- Strong communication, organization and analytical skills
- Self-motivated and capable of handling his/her own caseload
- Note: Compensation to be negotiated/ Full-Time
