Stewart International Airport is a busy airport located 60 miles north of New York City. This electrical project involved replacing runway lighting (and associated underground wiring) and running new cable through protective concrete ducts. The lighting replaced included all taxiway edge lights and flashing runway guard bar lights. Incandescent edge lights were replaced with high-efficiency LED fixtures, which use one third of the power and have a longer life span. Overall, the project's value was more than $10.6 million.

Beacon's Role:

Beacon's role involved scheduling and project controls support. Beacon was responsible for the generation of a CPM schedule utilizing Primavera scheduling software, which reflected timeframes, logical relationships and constraining issues. Beacon interfaced with electrical and other project team members on scheduling issues, maintained the schedule current and up to date, generated reports and graphics, attended project and scheduling meetings, performed schedule analysis, and generated recovery schedules as necessary.
