Beacon Provides Surety Consulting & Construction Management for Emergency Generator Project in New York City

The Henry Street Settlement is a not-for-profit social service agency located in the Lower East Side of New York City. The organization serves the surrounding community with social services, arts programs and healthcare services. Henry Street Settlement was founded in 1893 and is well known for its pioneering efforts in social service and healthcare delivery.

In recent months, Beacon was retained by a leading Surety to help with the completion of a backup-power / emergency generator project being installed on the rooftop of 301 Henry Street, known as the Helen Hall Youth Center, which houses Henry Street Settlement's Youth Services Division.

The project, which involves the installation of natural-gas-fueled backup generator package (rated for 125 KW), is scheduled for completion in the months ahead.

Henry Street Settlement is one of New York City's oldest social services and healthcare organizations. Among some of its notable achievements are: Starting the Visiting Nurse Service; establishing one of New York City's first off-street playgrounds (1902); funding the city's first public school nurse (1902); and opening one of the first community mental health clinics in the U.S. (1946).
