Beacon News - Dennis O'Neill runs the ING New York City Marathon

Dennis O'Neill, president of Beacon Consulting Group, Inc., was among the approximately 42,000 athletes who participated in the 2009 ING New York City Marathon on Sunday November 1, 2009. The 26.2 mile course began on the Staten Island end of the Verrazano Narrows Bridge, flowed through Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx, and finished in Central Park in Manhattan. This year marked the 40th anniversary of the race which first took place in 1970. The race was sponsored by the financial group ING, and organized by the New York Road Runners. The event continues to attract celebrities, world class competitors, and amateurs from around the world. Dennis was representing "Concern Worldwide", an international humanitarian organization dedicated to reducing suffering and ending extreme poverty. Dennis' finish time was 04:49:56.
