Beacon Staff Profile: Kieran O'Connor, Senior Project Manager

Kieran O’Connor is a key member of Beacon's management and construction consulting team. He has extensive experience providing Surety Consulting & Construction Project Management on projects across the U.S. Kieran is a tenacious, detail-oriented professional who serves Beacon’s clients with a very high level of professionalism and proficiency across a wide range of consulting areas.

Since joining Beacon in 2011, Kieran has taken a lead role on numerous construction consulting assignments. In addition to serving as the lead consultant on projects, Kieran has experience managing teams of project managers, superintendents and other consultants to complete projects in an efficient, professional, and cost-effective manner. Kieran also has experience serving as an expert witness related to construction claims litigation and has participated on expert panels at industry conferences.

Kieran has a B.E. in Civil Engineering and has built upon his educational training with years of practical construction management and consulting experience gained working on a broad range of projects. He is equally at home managing teams of subcontractors at a construction site, analyzing large/complex construction-related claims, and communicating with all stakeholders involved in troubled construction projects to find solutions to turn projects around quickly and efficiently.

Kieran has more than a decade of experience working on commercial, residential, educational, municipal, public housing, infrastructure, transportation, and marine construction and surety consulting assignments. As a Senior Project Manager, Kieran leads the day-to-day work involved in construction consulting and construction management projects, including design development, pre-construction, procurement, construction management oversight and monitoring as well as Project closeout. He also assists Sureties on matters related to complex bond default issues including performing cost-to-complete analyses, payment bond claims reviews, warranty and latent defect claim reviews and the assembly of completion bid packages.

A long-time resident of Woodside, New York, Kieran will soon be spending a lot more time in the Sunshine State, as he relocates to South Florida and takes a lead role in the establishment of Beacon's Florida office. Kieran will also continue to spend time in New York (where he is actively involved in a number of consulting assignments) and will also continue to travel around the U.S., to serve Beacon's clients wherever the job may lead.

Kieran originally hails from Kerry, Ireland where he was an active member of Kerry’s GAA football program for several years, rising up to play at the highest level in the sport. In his 20's, Kieran continued to be actively involved in Gaelic football in the New York City area. He played for the Kerry Gaelic Football Club of New York, and was part of the team’s championship-winning lineup in 2013 and 2014.
