Dennis O’Neill Receives Small Biz / Big Impact Award in Philadelphia

Congratulations go out to Dennis O'Neill, Beacon's founder and President! Dennis was one of 50 business leaders honored in Philadelphia on Friday May 18, 2018 at the Union League Club. The awards ceremony, officially titled "Irish Small Business Big Impact 50," was organized by The Irish Echo newspaper in conjunction with the Irish American Business Chamber and Network.

At the awards reception, 50 innovative business leaders, executives and entrepreneurs were recognized for creating jobs and growing businesses, but also for helping others along the way. All the awardees manage growing companies having workforces of 100 employees or less. According to the event's organizers: "Great companies are built by great people. Therefore each award nominee is an Irish American who has founded or leads a successful small business..."

While Dennis was born and raised in the U.S. (Boston area), he is proud of his Irish heritage—both of his parents grew up in Ireland and he still has many relatives in County Kerry, Ireland where his family hails from. Kerry is located on Ireland's Southwest coast and is a one of the country's most popular tourist destinations because of its beautiful countryside, rugged coastline, sweeping views and scenic roads. Dennis and his siblings enjoyed some wonderful times growing up when they visited with relatives in Ireland during their summer vacations.

Because of his heritage and interest in Irish culture, Dennis has been an active member of the Irish Business Organization of New York for many years, as well as a supporter of the Irish Arts Center (of New York), and various other organizations which promote Irish culture, business networking, and cultural exchange.

Congratulations Dennis!
