What is your major at Syracuse University?

I am majoring in public relations, but plan to also get a double minor in marketing and sports management.

What do you find interesting about this area so far?

I really like that there are an infinite amount of opportunities for PR and that it can be applied to many different types of work. I also really like how it requires a mix of different skills like critical thinking, communication, and graphic design.

When not focusing on your studies (or updating Beacon's social media sites), what activities do you like to do in your free time at school?

I am involved in Best Buddies, the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), and SU's Club Hockey program.

What is "Best Buddies?"

Best Buddies is an international nonprofit organization which provides one-to-one friendships, employment resources and opportunities, leadership development, and inclusive living experiences for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. The Syracuse Best Buddies chapter aims to spread awareness, establish one-on-one friendships, and host service-based and activities-based events to promote the mission and aims of Best Buddies. We also collaborate with other local Best Buddies chapters at other colleges to co-host events and dances for people with intellectual or developmental disabilities. The organization's website is: BestBuddies.org.

What do you like about playing hockey and what position do you play?

I play center in hockey. I like that we have a really fun team which makes all of our practices and games fun. Additionally, our captains organize a lot of team bonding activities to create a cohesive team. I also like how we get to explore New York State by traveling to other schools to play.
