Jim Bruno is a seasoned construction consulting professional with more than 32 years of experience. Jim joined Beacon Consulting Group in 2005 and has been a leader in Beacon's Medford, MA office ever since. After successfully leading a wide range of construction consulting assignments, Jim was promoted to the position of Vice President of Beacon in 2015. The Beacon Bears Pond Hockey team participated in this year's New England Pond Hockey Classic held on February 3-5, 2023. The event was held in Meredith, NH, on Lake Waukewan (right next to New Hampshire’s famous Lake Winnipesaukee, the original site for the tournament). The Bears participated in the “TWIG Recreational Division” where each team has a maximum roster size of 8 players (age 21 and up). Temperatures were very cold this year (with wind chills down to -40F and warnings from the National Weather Service). However, this did not stop Beacon’s hardy crew from hitting the ice and having a lot of fun. Among Beacon's veteran players were Dennis O'Neill and his brother John, both of whom overcame past injuries and operations which might have discouraged less rugged athletes. Upon termination of a precast concrete installer, Beacon Consulting Group was retained by a leading Surety to take over and manage the installation of architectural precast concrete panels on a high-profile building construction project in New York City. The 35-story residential building is located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Elizabeth Paquet is managing the project for Beacon, working together with the Precast Fabricator. As of this writing, Beacon is helping to manage the completion on this highly technical Concrete Panel installation. Click below for photos and more information about this unique project.

Beacon President Dennis O'Neill and Assistant Project Manager Myat Cyn were both panel speakers at this year's ABA Fidelity & Surety Law Committee (FSLC) Midwinter Conference held January 18-20, 2023 at the JW Marriott Hotel in Washington, D.C. Dennis participated on a panel which discussed "The Evolving Landscape of Construction Risk Management & The Priority of Effectively Handling Change." Myat's panel focused on "Effectively Presenting Claims: The Subcontractor Dilemma." Both Dennis and Myat provided the Construction Consultant's perspective related to effective approaches for resolving issues during and following a contractor default. Happy Holidays! Once again, another year has flown by. 2022 has been a successful year for Beacon Consulting Group. We have had the pleasure of working on and completing many interesting projects across the U.S. for a wide range of clients, old and new. Every December, Beacon's team members meet for the company's annual Corporate Meeting and Holiday Dinner.
