President's Message, October 2025

Happy Fall! Here in the Northeast, the weather has cooled off with temperature in the 50s on most days. As much as I enjoy the summer, I’ve always liked the energy that comes with the cooler weather and the “back-to-school” season. And if you’re a sports fan like me, it doesn’t get much better: football tailgates, college and NFL games every weekend, MLB and WNBA playoffs, the World Series, and the kickoff of both the NBA and NHL seasons.

Talking about "back to school," we have a short news item in this month's E-news about some of the "Beacon Kids" who graduated from High School in 2025 and have started university, including my son who is now a freshman at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. We're so proud of our kids and wish them a successful freshman year. I am also really proud of my daughter Jackie (age 24) who completed her first Chicago Marathon with a very fast time on October 12th (see E-News article). If you ever have a chance to participate in or watch the Chicago Marathon, I highly recommend it. I always love going to Chicago, but the energy in the city on marathon weekend is really incredible, with runners and spectators in town from all over the world.

Fall is also one of the busiest times in the construction industry. Across the northern U.S., project teams are hustling to wrap up outdoor work (things like painting, landscaping, concrete, and sealing up building envelopes) before the freezing cold and snowy weather rolls in. Beacon's team has been especially busy this fall as we support our clients on construction consulting assignments across the U.S. Please check out the Beacon E-news for the latest updates about our team and industry events.

As always, if you need support on any construction consulting matter, please Contact Beacon. I hope you have a great Fall season!

Best regards,

Dennis O'Neill, President
