Beacon Team Members & Friends Complete 2025 Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle in Southwest Ireland
Dennis O'Neill, along with his son Rory, brother John, Beacon VP Kieran O'Connor, and a number of other great friends and family members, completed the 105-mile Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle in early July. This was Dennis' second time participating in the iconic cycling event, having previously completed the ride in 2023, along with his daughter Jackie, his brother John, and a group of 30 other close friends and family. This year's event was a special one, as Rory O'Neill, a 2025 high school graduate (and the youngest of Dennis' children) is now leaving for his first year at college.
This year, Dennis and other members of Beacon's team partnered with our good friends Adrian D'Arcy and Andrew Vicknair (of the law firm D'Arcy Vicknair) to raise funds for the charity "Breakthrough Cancer Research." Our group was part of the "Spokes for Hope" team which raised more than €21,000 (over $24,000 USD) for this worthwhile cancer research charity. Breakthough Cancer Research is a non-proft organization which focuses on funding world-class cancer research (especially for "poor-prognosis cancers" which are not well-served by current treatment options). The organization's goal is to "Make More Survivors through life-saving discoveries." If you would like to support the Spokes For Hope team by making a small donation, please Click Here.
In addition to those who participated in the charity cycling event, a number of good friends made the journey to cheer on the riders, enjoy the beautiful scenery of Southwest Ireland, play golf, share a few pints, and spend time enjoying Irish culture and hospitality with family and friends (Click Below for Full-Sized Photos from This Year's Trip).
This year's event was once again a success. Along with thousands of other riders, Dennis, Rory, Kieran, John, and friends enjoyed some breathtaking views and landscapes as they rode along one of Ireland's most famous and scenic cycling and driving routes. Dennis, whose parent immigrated to the U.S. from Ireland, spent many happy times growing up when he and his siblings would visit family members in Kerry, including many cousins. In this regard, Dennis always welcomes the opportunity to re-connect with his cousins and other friends he has made in Ireland over the years.
