The "Beacon Bears" Looking Forward To 2016 Softball Season

Now that the summer is here, the "Beacon Bears" are coming out of hibernation and are gearing up for another exciting softball season. The Bears are a co-ed, slow pitch softball team organized by Beacon Consulting Group's Medford, MA office. The team plays in an after-work league, with games taking place on the fields in Boston Common, downtown's Boston's historic park.

In 2015, the Bears won their league championship, finishing with 8 wins and one loss. Mike Kinahan, who organizes Beacon's team, has also been the team’s power hitter. Mike led the league in home runs in 2015, with 9 homers last summer and 5 more during the Fall season. Beacon's Pitcher, Jim Bruno, also contributed strong hitting with a respectable .889 average last season.

The Bears includes players from Beacon’s Medford office, as well as friends, clients, and partners all of whom contributed to the winning season last year. As important as the competition and thrill of victory which the Beacon Bears experience on the field, the team also enjoys lively post-game debriefings, food and beverages with friends and opposing teams at M.J. O'Connor's. If you are planning to be in Boston this summer, make sure to check on the Beacon Bears' schedule and come out to Boston Common to cheer them on.
