Two Beacon Team Members Earn LEED Green Associate Credentials

Congratulations to John Yeung and Kieran O'Connor of Beacon's NYC office! Both passed their LEED Green Associate exams in April 2015. By earning the LEED Green Association designation, John and Kieran have demonstrated their knowledge of the most current sustainable building principles and practices.

LEED stands for "Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design" and is a rating system created by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) to evaluate the environmental performance of a building and also encourage sustainable building design, construction and operation. LEED categorizes buildings by type and provides guidelines for implementing sustainable solutions. LEED-certified buildings cost less to operate, and can reduce energy and water bills by up to 40%. LEED certification and accreditation is respected worldwide as a mark of achievement in green building design and operation.
