Beacon Staff Profile: Anabella Vivas, Northeastern University Engineering Co-op

Anabella Vivas joined Beacon recently for a 6-month internship as part of Northeastern University's Co-op (Cooperative Education) program. Anabella, who is working out of Beacon's Medford, MA office, is learning on the job as she assists Beacon's Project Managers and Project Engineers on a wide variety of construction consulting assignments. Beacon Bears Hockey Team Competes in 15th Annual New England Pond Hockey Classic

In early February, Dennis O'Neill and friends participated in the 15th Annual New England Pond Hockey Classic. The Beacon Bears traveled to Central New Hampshire to compete in the 3-day pond hockey tournament held on Lake Waukewan. Once again, the Bears participated in the “TWIG Recreational Division” where each team has a maximum roster size of 8 players (age 21 and up). Beacon Team To Participate in ABA Fidelity & Surety Law (FSLC) 2024 Midwinter Conference

Beacon's team will be participating in the ABA's FSLC Midwinter Conference to be held at the Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans, January 24-26. This is always a great event which brings together the leading Surety companies, law firms, and consultants who are active in the field. On the first day, Beacon's President Dennis O'Neill will be participating as a "faculty member" for the conference's Construction Program. Specifically, he will be a member of the expert panel discussing "Processes In Construction." This panel will delve into all of the processes which must be planned and managed during any construction project, starting with those which take place before on-site work begins and going all the way through to the project closeout process. Beacon Staff Profile: Dan Newcombe, Construction Superintendent & Project Manager

Dan Newcombe is a seasoned construction expert with 28+ years of experience working on domestic and international projects. Dan has extensive hands-on experience managing virtually every aspect of a construction project. His knowledge, experience, and incredible interpersonal skills make Dan an invaluable member of Beacon's team. Project Profile: Beacon Provides Construction Consulting Services for Transitional Housing Renovation Project in Fort Lauderdale, FL

Beacon Consulting Group was retained by a leading Surety to provide construction consulting / surety claims consulting services related to a homeless shelter renovation project in downtown Fort Lauderdale, FL. Beacon was hired to help ensure that the project was completed following the default of the General Contractor on the project. The $1.2-million first phase of the building's renovation included the upgrade / renovation of bathrooms, shower rooms, and adjoining spaces used by residents. This entailed upgrades to mechanical systems, electrical, plumbing, sprinkler, and fire alarm. The project also included all related finish work (such as painting, tile work, flooring, etc). Kieran O'Connor served as Beacon's Lead Consultant and Project Manager for this assignment. Click below for full project profile.
